The UPXDS Association, Inc. has succesfully sponsored the dance concert of the UP Filipiniana Dance Group and the UP Singing Ambassadors as part of the centennial celebration of the University of the Philippines.

Also supported by the UPXDS International Association, the concert was held at the UP Theatre in Diliman, Quezon City last November 15, 2008. 

Prof. Oscar L. Evangelista, the adviser of the UPXDS Association,just released the book "Icons and Institutions, Essays on the History of the Philippines, 1952 - 2000". 

The book offers a very personal view of the University of the Philipppines over a fifty-year period. Professor Evangelista presents vignettes of UP history through icons of his time: Father John Patrick Delaney, SJ, chaplain of the UP Community, 1950-1956; Salvador P. Lopez, university president during the tumultous years, 1969-1975; and Armandao J. Malay, dean of students, 1970-1977.

The three scholars of the UPXDS Association, Inc. for 2007-2008 were presented to the members of the association last October 6, 2007 during the fist year anniversary celebration held at the Convenarium, Crossroad 77  Mother Ignacia Ave. cor. Scout Reyes, Quezon City.

The three scholars are: Eugene Cuaresma, a first year Chemical Engineering student;  Kristine Joy Bravo, a first year Chemical Engineering student; and Christian Seso, a second year Civing Engineering student.

All the scholars are currently enrolled in the Diliman campus of the University of the Philippines.

UPXDS Association, Inc. was formally organized and registered as a non-stock, non-profit association on September 4, 2006 with the Securities & Exchange Commision by the former grantees of the University of the Philippines Experimental Democratization of Students (UPXDS) Scholarship Program.
